Aveda Institutes Texas - Giving Back to Our Community
Through community events, fundraisers, and sustainable business practices, the Aveda Institute San Antonio and Aveda Institute Corpus Christi are always happy to do our part in the community in which we live and work. We would like to tell you about some of the ways in which we help and urge you to join us on our mission.
Sun Fest Corpus
We staged a music and fashion show that also featured Native American Drum and Dance to help raise funds for a double life size bronze statue to be built on the second largest Indian burial ground in Texas. Aveda Institute Corpus Christi aligned with South Texas Alliance of Indigenous People and other like minded businesses to bring this one day event to Corpus Christi, so that we could all come together to celebrate as a community.
Our San Antonio Campus is Powered by Windtricity
Windtricity is a green energy program that enables us to purchase power created at wind farms in West Texas. Windtricity offsets our energy use with clean, renewable wind power.
Our Corpus Christi campus has its own wind turbine, producing electricity for our space.
Aveda Institute Corpus Christi also has installed kinetic energy exercise equipment, which adds electricity to our grid through human power! These machines are available for use by the general public and also can be used to earn discounts for services. Read the press release about this exciting innovation.
We Support Recycling in Our Community
We recycle glass,plastic, paper, and aluminum..
We Support the Mitchell Lake Audubon Society
The Audubon's mission is to conserve and restore natural ecosystems, focusing on birds, other wildlife, and their habitats for the benefit of humanity and the earth's biological diversity.
Aveda Institute Corpus Christi supports CASA
(Court Appointed Special Advocates for Children)
This is an organization of volunteers that are appointed by judges to watch over and advocate for abused and neglected children until they can be placed in a safe permanent home.
